SUMMARY OF POSITION
The IT Lead is responsible for oversight of all IT initiatives in the Chicago facility. This position will be focused on day-to-day support of our Chicago facility from the IT perspective. Duties will include assisting with help desk tickets for Chicago as required, managing IT projects to meet cost and schedule targets, work with 3rd party providers for network and other issues, participate in ERP implementation as Chicago moves to CSI, develop the Chicago IT team by identifying gaps and providing training, managing the IT employees in the Chicago facility, and coordinating with the Chicago leadership team as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Manage day-to-day communications and technology infrastructure including (but not limited to) telephone, wide area networks, server farm etc. to assure consistent and reliable availability
- Assist with help desk tickets as required
- Manage group of IT employees in Chicago
- Coordinate with Chicago leadership team as required
- Manage projects to meet cost and schedule targets
- Work with 3rd party providers for network and other issues
- Participate in ERP implementation activities as required
- Use Lean principles and continuous improvement practices in day to day operations. Make recommendation for improvements and share those improvements with the other enterprise sites.
- Prepare divisional IT budgets for expense and capital acquisitions, screening IT solution procurement requests from other departments etc.
- Develop management required IT information reports.
- Development of maintenance of disaster recovery strategic plans.
- Identify, create and maintain synergies with other Northstar sites operations, technologies, processes etc. Includes working closely with IT Managers from other Northstar sites.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will direct the work of two (2) Northstar employees.

- Frequent walking
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds
- Occasional reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, twisting, bending and repetitive motion
- Occasional exposure to moderate to heavy noise
- The ability to wear proper personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or related field
- 10 years of relevant experience.
- 3 – 5 years of supervisor/management experience
- Experience in CSI
- Experience in an industrial 24-hour setting is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
