SUMMARY OF POSITION

This position is responsible for general accounting, analysis and financial reporting duties to ensure Fixed Overhead, Variable Overhead and Payroll entries are properly accounted for. In addition, the role will maintain and update accounting/finance records ensuring timeliness and accuracy and assist in a key capacity with month-end close, account reconciliations, monthly business review package, forecasts and budgets, expense management, and other analytical tasks. This position must exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. This position reports to the Controller.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain FOH, VOH and Payroll reports and ensure accuracy through variance analysis and KPI reports
  • Analyze actual costs and preparing periodic reports comparing actual costs
  • Participate in the preparation of the monthly business review (MBR) financial package including financial highlights, analysis, trends and comments
  • Participate in the monthly analysis and variance explanation.
  • Ensure appropriate accounts and data are maintained in the ERP system
  • Perform various month-end Accounting close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts and the annual budget
  • Assist with planning the annual physical inventory, performing audit counts and the post inventory reconciliation process.
  • Assist in preparing government contracting cost and pricing rate models as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Coordinate and manage requests from external auditors
  • Work on other tasks as assigned

This position will not direct the work of any other employees.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Education Required: BA Degree in Accounting

Experience Required: Must have at least 3 years of accounting in a manufacturing environment, aerospace experience preferred. CSI/Syteline experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Overall computer proficiency with many software programs, especially advanced Excel
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting concepts and theories used in the business environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to various levels within the organization as well as to external customers and vendors
  • Demonstrated initiative
  • Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills
  • Strong work ethic
