SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Painter is responsible for routine maintenance, cleaning and preparing parts for painting and coating. The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary, but does not directly or indirectly supervise any other employees. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are listed below. This list is not all inclusive and may be amended by Northstar, from time to time.
- Perform routine maintenance on work equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Thoroughly clean parts in preparation to paint
- Masking to flow sheet, blueprints and drawings
- Manage and monitor the shelf life of materials, i.e. paints
- Apply primers, paints, and coatings to various aviation and aerospace parts
- Accurately document worked performed
- Other projects as assigned
This position will not direct the work of any other employees.

- Frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing and seeing
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Frequent reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, twisting, bending and repetitive motion
- Occasional sitting, writing and typing
- Visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of product and/or parts
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
- Frequent exposure to moderate to heavy noise
- The ability to wear proper personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.
Education Required: None
Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years work related experience in the aviation or aerospace industry. NADCAP, ISO and FAA experience
