Position Summary

Northstar Aerospace is a leading provider of high-reliability and high complexity machined components, structures, and assemblies for aerospace applications. 

Accountabilities

• Programming, set up, and operation of a SL35 CNC Lathe
• Meeting customer specifications while working to manufacturing operations and tooling planning and/or blue prints.
• Perform daily and weekly maintenance and clean up of machines and will need to address machine problems when/if issues arise.
• Check the operations performed using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, overlays and pin gauges to measure to customer specifications.
• Analyzes drawings and specifications and determines tooling by applying knowledge and experience of metal properties and processes. 
• Works with supervisors, engineering, and quality to give feedback and resolve problems.
• Adheres to required safety and housekeeping standards and practices

Essential Skills and Experience

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

• Three (3) years of manufacturing experience performing set-up and operation on a CNC Lathe.
• Able to problem solve any issues that may occur with machinery and/or material.
• Experience with a wide variety of hand tools, in addition to various inspection tools, Calipers, Micrometers, Overlays and Pin Gauges.
• Proficient computer skills needed – CNC programming required.
• The ability to plan and perform difficult work processes, interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels employees.
• Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.
• Able to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.
• Must be dependable, professional, flexible, have a positive attitude and a solid work history.
• Able to pass a pre-employment and random drug screen

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
