​​​​​​​SUMMARY OF POSITION

This position is responsible for cost accounting, analysis and financial reporting duties to ensure sales, cost of sales, and inventory are properly accounted for. In addition, the role will maintain and update accounting/finance records ensuring timeliness and accuracy and assist in a key capacity with month-end close, account reconciliations, monthly business review package, forecasts and budgets, expense management, and other analytical tasks. This position must exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. This position reports to the Assistant Controller.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain product costing, inventory accuracy, variance analysis and produces KPI reports
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing actual production costs
  • Participate in the preparation of the monthly business review (MBR) financial package including financial highlights, revenue, cost and margin analysis, trends and comments
  • Participate in the monthly analysis and variance explanation (price, volume, performance and mix) of revenue, margin and EBITDA bridges
  • Ensure appropriate cost accounts and pools are maintained in the ERP system
  • Perform various month-end Accounting close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts and the annual budget
  • Assist with planning the annual physical inventory, performing audit counts and the post inventory reconciliation process. Monitors cycle counts
  • Assist in preparing government contracting cost and pricing rate models
  • Ensure compliance with the company's financial policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Coordinate and manage requests from external auditors
  • Work on other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Education Required: BA Degree in Accounting
  • Experience Required: Must have at least 2 years of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, aerospace experience preferred. CSI/Syteline experience preferred

  • Overall computer proficiency with many software programs, especially advanced Excel
