Position: Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Duration: Flexible - The internship will start with a minimum commitment of [3-6 months], with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.

 

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our Phoenix team. This individual will play a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing our manufacturing processes, ensuring we continue to meet and exceed the industry standards of efficiency and quality.

 

Key Job Duties:

  • Assist in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focusing on product quality, cost reduction, and efficiency.
  • Analyze and review engineering documentation to ensure compliance with company and customer standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support the implementation of new processes and equipment to improve product manufacturing.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of work instructions, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Engage in cost analysis and lean manufacturing projects to identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilize CAD/CAM application for CNC programming, part and fixture design, and create supporting drawings.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (junior or senior year preferred, and Manufacturing Engineering preferred).
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in metal working/machining and CAD/CAM manufacturing in an aerospace environment.
  • Strong analytical abilities and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with database applications and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a safety-conscious manner, understanding the specific needs of an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
