SUMMARY OF POSITION 

This position is responsible for all aspect of operating various CNC Milling equipment (Matsurra, Mazak, Mitsui Seki and Okuma).  This position also must operate the manual equipment as required by the cell (hand drilling, Bridgeport Mill)

This position is in Northstar’s Manufacturing Department, and reports to the Production Supervisor.  This is a full-time position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform precision machining operations on aerospace hardware
• Performs all setup activity on CNC Milling equipment
• Maintain highly efficient work process using Lean principles to support cost reduction activity
• Responsible for operating various CNC machines and equipment
• Performs secondary operation on manual equipment such as hand drilling and
• Bridgeport mill.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not direct the work of any other employees.

• Frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing and seeing
• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Frequent reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, twisting, bending and repetitive motion
• Occasional sitting, writing and typing
• Visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of product and/or parts
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
• Frequent exposure to moderate to heavy noise
• The ability to wear proper personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED                                  

Education Required:  High School diploma or equivalent experience
Experience Required: 5 years’ experience with CNC Milling aerospace components
